The Experience

The priority of our work is to support the community to generate income in the village through farming, we would like to provide opportunities; be an example on how to grow profitable permaculture crops, like coffee. We’re trying out a lot of new projects, new crops, processing methods and we are looking for volunteers to help us with the work and to exchange ideas. There are plenty of chances to contribute and share your skills.

Working at the farm was one of the greatest experiences ever. From the moment we got there I felt so welcomed and happy. The food was incredible, the accommodation was comfortable, and the whole team at the farm was friendly, fun, and had so much to teach. I feel I learned so much about the process of growing coffee and just what it takes to run a farm like this. The work was sometimes tiring and hard but it felt so rewarding to be a part of growing coffee. I loved the farm and miss it so much and would highly recommend volunteering here to anyone, you won't regret it.

My partner and I's stay at the farm was unforgettable! By the end of our three weeks there, we felt like we were leaving our home away from home :) We got to learn so much about the coffee growing process and get to be a part of it as well! The work was as agreed upon, some days it was pretty physical, and others it was more relaxed! The food, coffee, and tea were all incredible! A special thank you to Dipa for making us feel so welcomed and appreciated from the moment we arrived! And Nana, Ama, Thomas, Dinesh, Mongale, Bishal, we will miss you all! But we'll be back again one day :)

Cara stayed with us for 3 weeks and tried her hands at many different farm tasks, from compost making to coffee picking and sorting. She did all the work with curious determination and performed all task perfectly. She is a quick learner and very sociable, integrated very well in our community. A perfect match with us!

This was a truly beautiful expérience for me ! I left with my heart filled with peace and joy ! the farm is a very welcoming place for everybody, you are sure to be well taking care of. Nature wise the location is beautiful, and so much work goes to their garden which makes it a pleasure to work there. Dont hesitate to ask questions and for explainations to understand the work you are doing, it is very interesting to learn about the plants and the way everything is haddled. After a few days you will feel at home : ) It is a great place as well to learn some Nepali and local traditions !

Josephine are a dedicated volunteer. She impressed us with her friendly, very proactive and helpful approach. Adjusting very quickly into our environment. She participated in more work than we expect from a volunteer. We all had a great time together. An excellent exchange in every way! Also big thanks for your valuable suggestions.

We had a great time helping at the farm, learning about coffee, seeing the Himalayas on a great hike, and hanging with other volunteers. the farm team is so friendly, funny, and welcoming. The program is very well managed with clear signage, instructions, and scheduling, making settling in here super easy! Plus(!!!), all the work is meaningful to the farm. Highly recommend!! Bistali+best wishes to the farm from J & L of the Kishan Team! Tips: If you like ++protein, you can buy extra eggs in town. Also, don't forget to buy beans from 'Deepa's Shop' to bring back for family/friends/yourself! ;)

Our time at the farm filled our hearts and our cups. We instantly felt welcomed, valued and part of the farm family within hours of arrival. The communication leading up to our stay was clear and appreciated. The property is in a beautiful setting and the house and living spaces are kept clean and tidy. We are beyond grateful for the experience, the knowledge acquired through from all staff and of course the delicious food and coffee! The volunteer expectations were made clear from the get go and the schedule was well organized. There was a variety of work to keep us busy and engaged!!
